AI competitive intelligence tools compared
for ongoing monitoring of named competitors with battlecards for sales, use Crayon or Klue. For digital market share, use Similarweb. For a one-off competitive landscape report, our pick is Hyperresearch, with Claude Research as the runner-up. For analyst and earnings-call commentary, use AlphaSense.
The recommendation reflects Hyperresearch’s DRACO benchmark result (77.7, in our own run) and the published sources in this reference. Hyperresearch is our product. This is not a hands-on test of every tool.

Monitoring is not research
CI platforms watch: they notice when a competitor changes a pricing page, posts a job or announces a feature, and they get that to your sales team fast. They are not built to answer “who are all the players in this market and how do they make money?” That question is desk research, and it needs a tool that reads filings, reviews and industry sources and cites them.
Many teams use both: a deep research report to map the field once, then a CI platform to watch the five competitors that matter.
Notes on each
Crayon
Its AI scores competitor changes by importance, and its Sparks feature writes on-demand analysis. Integrations include Salesforce, Slack, Teams and Highspot. Reviewers mention cost, and getting internal teams to actually use it.

Klue
Klue is strong on connectors: CRM, Gong and Chorus call recordings, email, Slack and sales enablement tools. In 2025 it acquired Ignition, an agentic product marketing startup. Klue fits best when a dedicated product marketing or CI person owns the program.

Similarweb
Similarweb uses modelled traffic estimates that cover more than 100 million websites and 4 million apps. They are good for comparing large competitors, and rougher for small sites. It offers a full API and an MCP server for AI tools.

AlphaSense
Choose AlphaSense when the intelligence you need sits in earnings calls, broker notes and expert interviews rather than on the open web.
